Florida Employment Lawyer
When you turn to the Poulos Law Firm in Tampa, you will benefit from the unique perspective I bring to employment law and family law cases.
My Background in Employment Law
As I was growing up, my parents ran a restaurant and bar. I have seen firsthand how a good employer treats employees. My experience working for them also gave me insight into the complexities employers face — complexities that can cause even the most honest of employers to get tripped up when trying to do what is right for their employees.
While there are certainly employers whose negative actions are intentional, there are also those that simply made a mistake. This understanding was reinforced when I became an attorney and began my career providing defense representation in employment law cases. This reality does not change the fact that employees are to be compensated and treated fairly. Now, as an advocate for employees, I approach cases with a commitment to taking the appropriate action in order to get positive results.
My Background in Family Law
Early in my career as an attorney, I worked for the state of Florida, handling cases in juvenile dependency court. I represented the state in numerous juvenile dependency and termination of parental rights cases that went to trial. Trial experience is becoming increasingly rare in the area of family law, simply because the family courts are pushing mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution. While mediation is certainly positive, the fact remains that some cases cannot be resolved in this manner.
When there is the potential that a divorce or family law case requires a more aggressive approach, you want an attorney who understands how to enter the arena of battle that is a trial. I have the necessary experience because of my background working for the state of Florida. You can be confident that, if necessary, I can fight for you when mediation fails.
Representation From an Experienced Trial Lawyer
Trial skills transcend practice area. I am extremely confident in my ability to successfully battle for positive results, not only in family law cases, but also in labor law cases as well. If an opponent is not willing to resolve matters through less contentious means, I will fight for you.
